Apple explains Night Shift being able to “automatically shift the colors in your display to the warmer end of the spectrum” as ” bright blue light in the evening can affect your circadian rhythms and make it harder to fall asleep” and this new tool aims to cut down on eye strain and sleeplessness you might get when you’re tucked into bed with your iPhone or iPad. According to Apple, the bright blue light emitted by your iOS devices during the evening hours can keep you awake later than you want.
With Night Shift, you should be able to stay up browsing Instagram or any other social media applications or by playing games and still fall asleep without much issue. Here’s how to use it.
HOW TO USE NIGHT SHIFT MODE ON IPHONE AND IPAD ?
Step 1. Launch the Settings app from home screen followed by “Display & Brightness“.
Step 2. Tap on Night Shift mode.
Step 3. Toggle ON Schedule.

In case you want to turn off night shift mode, go to Settings → Tap on Display & Brightness → Tap on Night Shift→ Turn it off.
Schedule Night Shift Mode in iOS 9.3 on iPhone and iPad
Step 1. Same as above, launch the Settings app followed by “Display & Brightness“.
Step 2. Tap on “Night Shift” → Tap on From/To under Schedule.
Step 3. You can set Schedule as “Off“, “From Sunset to Sunrise” or “Custom Schedule” by entering a specific time range of the day.
By following these steps on your iPhone and in iPad, Night Shift mode will automatically set your screen accordingly with the schedule. The iPhone 5s and later, the iPad mini 2 and later, the iPad Air and later, the sixth-generation iPod touch, and the iPad Pro can be used with Night Shift.
